Hundreds of pounds raised for Weldmar

On Thursday 27 November, The Engine Room Restaurant at Poundbury Gardens opened its doors to more than 40 women, who took a well-earned break from the pressures of Christmas to unwind and indulge in the festivities. With champagne, manicures and an array of seasonal canapés, the ‘ladies night’ raised £300 for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, an independent charity offering support for people with cancer and other life-limiting diseases in Dorset.

Cath Collins, farm shop and restaurant area manager at The Gardens Group, explains; “The Engine Room was a hive of activity throughout the evening, with homemade wreath making and canapé demonstrations keeping everybody entertained, offering useful festive tips to add some personal touches to the home. We are really pleased to be able to host this event and help raise money for Weldmar.”

Jonathan Panton, business and e-commerce fundraising manager at Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, adds; “The ladies night was brilliant and we are delighted with how much money was raised. Our thanks go to the team at The Engine Room and Poundbury Gardens for their hard work to make the evening a resounding success.”
